President Bill Baker (right) is congratulated by outgoing President Ian McNamee after Annual General Meeting on 26 February 2008. Mr. McNamee, who, as inaugural President served three terms before standing down under Association rules, remains on the Executive Committee.

Queanbeyan Business Council was inaugurated on 18th January 2005 as an Incorporated Association under NSW legislation.

Mission Statement:
"To provide a forum for the promotion of Queanbeyan region as a place to live and do business through:

Consultation between business & industry, sporting, cultural and other associations in Queanbeyan region and representation to all levels of Government.

Cooperation with industry associations in the broader Australian Capital Region sharing common values and objectives".

Hon. Dr. Mike Kelly AM MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Support and Civil-Military Cooperation, and Federal Member for Eden Monaro and Mr. Steve Whan MP, NSW Member for Monaro have kindly agreed to to be joint Patrons of Queanbeyan Business Council.

An Executive Committee of 19 people was elected at QBC's Annual General Meeting held on 3rd of March 2009, headed by President Bill Baker with Vice Presidents Jeremy Wyatt, Craig Harris and Ken Ineson. Immediate Past President Ian McNamee remains as part of the Executive Committee.

Visitor Information Centre:

On 13th February 2006, QBC assumed management of Queanbeyan Visitor Information Centre. This followed a resolution of Queanbeyan City Council on 21st December 2005. Queanbeyan City Council will provide on-going Grants to QBC to assist with operating expenses.

OUR QUEANBEYAN PARTNERS :

Queanbeyan Business Council operates the Visitor Information Centre under an agreement with Queanbeyan City Council. We also work very closely with Council in matters of mutual interest relating to Economic Development and City Promotion.

Queanbeyan Business Council shares premises with the well established Capital Region BEC which provides business advisory, networking and a range of other services. Between the two organisations, 1 Farrer Place is truly a ONE STOP SHOP for business in Queanbeyan.
